The Bottom Line:
Flat screen 32 inch televisions shouldn't drain the wallet.. This one offers both great sound and picture quality at an incredible value. Definitely worth a shot!
I've read reviews of this TV in which it is wrongly compared to higher-end Toshibas and Sonys as in "my old $900 Toshiba had better features"... Simply stated, if you have $900 or more to spend on a television, go out and spend it-- you certainly won't be impressed with the GT3215. But, if you're budget-minded and want a TV with great picture quality in a lower price range (I bought one for $399.99), you might be pleasantly surprised.
The definition can be really enhanced by upping the contrast (you can really tweak the picture to make it look incredible). It doesn't have a digital comb filter or component video, but looks as if it doesn't need either anyway. It does, however, have S-Video which makes DVDs look fabulous, and enhances regular TV as well. The sound is great, and there are 4 presets: Theater, Music, Speech, and a Memory setting which the viewer sets. (There are presets for the picture as well-- Theater, Normal, and a Memory setting).
The downsides are very few and trivial, for instance, the remote is pretty ugly (who cares), and the on screen menus are pretty elementary looking (again, who cares--nobody sits and watches the volume control meter; god at least I hope not).
To sum it up, if you're looking for a 32 inch flat screen television that doesn't start at $700, give this one a spin; you won't be sorry!
