Mac convert forever.
Pros
very user friendly, safe-don't have to worry about bugs (as much)
Cons
expensive, not always compatible, can't hear well when playing CDs, but great with radio stations
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Recommend. Friendly to navigate, system is easy to maintain, features is top notch, simple and sleek appearance, so it's not bulky and doesn't take up much space
I bought a Mac because I wanted something different but more importantly, user friendly. I didn't want a lot of fluff. I was using it for classes at the time and for general surfing, emails, some writing. I absolutely love my Mac. I will never go back to Microsoft operated laptops/computers. There's a lot to learn, so patience is important, but that's what great about Mac. Because they offer classes (free) to new Mac users. Though I never took any classes, I found that the software is easy to navigate, manage, and organize. There are tools that will cut your searches down by half. Safari is to Mac what Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer is to a Dell. It's more difficult to get a bunch a pop ups with Macs (I think). You can clean the system quickly without worrying about losing space. The layout is more efficient and user friendly. As far as which one to get, well there are a lot of options. They do offer bundles. I got mine with an IPod and saved some money. I don't do any heavy presentations or such, but I do have the Microsoft package: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. There's the Entourage, which houses a calendar, Excel, and you can access your mail too. There are more features in Entourage, but I don't use them. I don't have that much going on in my life right now. But like I said, there's a lot to learn. ITunes lets you listen to radio stations all across the world. Also, IPhoto lets you download your pictures in seconds, organize them in different folders, create a slide show presentation, and order them from Mac's photo shop. I recently had my first child and took a ton of pictures, downloaded them, ordered them in print (from the Internet) and got them mailed in a few days. I'm not computer savvy, but that's okay, because Macs are straight forward and simple. Oh, mine came with an airport card, so I can access the internet wirelessly from cafes, hot spots, etc. It's under the keyboard, so you don't have to worry about stuff sticking out of your laptop. Ergonomically, it's clean and simple style makes it so much more hip than those bulky laptops you see people lugging around. My biggest complaint is that not everyone is Mac compatible yet. Insurance is expensive and hard to sometimes get through customer service. Highly recommended if you're thinking about one.
