Amazing Workstation
Pros
FAST
Runs quiet
easy memory and hard drive upgrades (literally)
Best OS ever
Cons
EXPENSIVE!!!
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
I recommend this product for professional use (photography, video etc.) but if you have the spare cash, get it, don't settle for anything less.
This workstation is absolutely amazing. I bought the base 3.0GHz with only the 320GB HD and 2 GB RAM, even with that it's amazingly fast. I only use it for Photography so I'm not sure how it handles doing something else (video editing etc.)
The best part about this system is that it's so easy to upgrade or replace your memory, optical drive and hardrive.
I'm at the moment running with 14 GB of RAM, and I bought an extra 640 GB of internal hard drive. I just opened up the side panel, took the HD and pop it in the 2nd HD bay (there are 4 HD bays one is populated by the HD that came from the factory and you can add another 3 HD if you want. You can have 4 TB (terrabytes!!!) of HD space if you wanted!!!
You can buy aftermarket stuff (memory, HD etc.) at www.macsales.com if you don't want to go with the overpriced items at the Online Apple store. (ehh..no..I don't work for OWC...I'm a faithful customer though)
I have the Nvidia 8800 GT vid card in it and it also supports up to 2 30 inch Apple Cinema Displays (I have 2 20" ACD)
If you want a no hassle, no bling, blazingly fast, no compromise workstation..then this is it. Don't even settle for a windoze version....sure it's pricey, and I'm pretty sure you can get a similar windoze for less, but for a workstation that's built from the ground up with Apple's scrutiny and tight product quality assurance behind it, rest assured that you won't have any problems with it.
