My Right Brained Mac Computer
Pros
The finest computer that I've ever owned -- fun, intuitive, easy to use.
Cons
Battery life fair. Full charge is generally good for about 75-90 minutes of use.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
This machine is part of my cerebral cortex. It thinks with me. Easy to use, fun, intuitive.
I bought this computer when it first came out a few years ago. I have never regretted a moment of owning it. I also have a Dell PC laptop from work that I can use and it just doesn't work for me. The fact that the Mac is Window's based
is a big plus. Here are some reasons that I love this machine:
1, No viruses or bugs. Like the EverReady bunny, it keeps going and going and going.
2. Simple, intuitive, easy to figure out and use. Click and drag ease.
3. Lots of customer service and help. Apple makes it feel like you're in a private club and an exclusive member at that.
4. Its sturdy -- I've dropped it several times and other than a slight dent, no problem to the machine.
5. Great programs like iPhoto, iWeb and iLife.
6. Built-in camera for quick self-portraits or for use with iChat, talk to friends visually, computer to computer.
7. Lightweight, slim, very well designed.
8. Fast, fast, fast.
The only drawback is a battery that is only good for about 80-90 minutes of use. But since an outlet is often available, keeping it charged is no big deal.
Since I purchased this model immediately after its debut, I also had to swap out the original battery with another one that Apple provided free of charge.
I also purchased a PRO CARE membership which was good for 50, 1 hour tutorial sessions at the Apple Store, preferential treatment at the Genius Bar and a free cleaning, all for just $100. I recommend this extra to fully learn all the tricks that this computer has to offer.
All in all, I love this machine. It's part of me and I spend every day of my life interacting with it...pleasurably.
