i love my Mac!
Pros
user friendly, new features, very reliable, space efficient
Cons
price, only customizable to an extent
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Mac users, go for it. It's worth the money, it is so reliable and so much fun to use. For PC users who don't need a ton of customization, convert!
I made the switch to Macs about a year and a half ago and I have no regrets. I eventually had to buy a desktop, and the iMac came out just in time.
This desktop is amazing. I'm always discovering new things/features. It might seem like feature creep, but the new features are very useful. I like the new spaces feature as well as the time machine backup system. Document stacking is also very helpful. FrontRow is also pretty nice, it allows you to access media (music, photos, etc.) with the Apple remote. The new iMac also has bootcamp pre-installed so you can run windows programs, provided you own a copy of windows.
I customized mine online because I needed more RAM and memory, so the price really hit me. But I don't regret it at all. You can also order it with certain programs pre-installed. I haven't used it personally, but I've heard that iWork is a nice substitute for MS Office. You can only custom order online, but the computer came within a week.
The keyboard is flatter than the older version, so it's a little hard to use if you use a keyboard cover, but it's quite nice. The computer itself is all self contained within the monitor so it is space efficient. Macs in general are only customizable to an extent, but for a regular user, it's really not a priority.
Not that this is important, but when you first turn it on, there is an intro welcoming animation that really made my day :)
