The Bottom Line:
Buy it, you won't be sorry.
I just purchased this laptop from CompUSA and have been very happy with it. I used to own a 500MHz iBook and so I am very familiar with OS X.
I did a lot of reasearch including paying less for a PC laptop and decided on the Mac for its beauty, ease of use and virtually crash-free system. I still don't know all of the ins and outs of Panther, but so far it's pretty slick, especially expose.
It connected right away to my wireless network and setting up e-mail and other preferences was a breeze. Bluetooth sounds cool, but I don't have any BT products yet but like true Apple-style-- I'm sure there will soon be a plethora of BT gadgets.
It is noticeably cooler than iBook and I can't really compare speed since it's 2 1/2 years newer, but it does cruise, especially since I added an extra 512 MB... Photoshop 7 now screams right along.
I connect it to my 19" Sony flat screen and the monitor spanning is quite awesome, I now place all of my palletes and secondary application windows on the laptop and do detail design work on the larger monitor.
I would definitely recommend this beauty and the 12" screen keeps the size and weight down while keeping a large keyboard. A little pricey, but worth it.
