The Bottom Line:
Sexy aluminum enclosure, 4.6lbs, 1" thin, Airport Extreme included, 60 Gig HD, and of course Mac OS X!!!
For the record this is my second 12" Powerbook that I have owned over the past 2 yeas, and I am avery pleased with this particular model. This model is known to "Mac-heads" as Rev.C as it is the third version/edition of the 12" Powerbook line. Being the third revision, Apple has surely ironed out many of the wrinkles that were found in previous revisions.
One feature I really like on the 12" PowerBooks are the fact that all of the ports are on the left hand side of the computer, thus they are very easy to access. This computer comes with a mini-DVI port, two USB 2.0 ports, a FireWire 400 port, modem, analog line in/out, security lock slot, and of course an ethernet port.
It should be noted that the screen backlighting is noticeably brighter when I compare it to my Rev. A (867 MHz G4) 12" Powerbook. The resolution is the same but the screen is definitely brighter.
The heat issue found on previous 12" PowerBook has been somewhat mitigated in this revision. The thing still gets warm, but not as hot as my older Rev.A.
In the end this is a excellent computer and a tremendous value when considering the feature set that comes as standard. It should be noted that this computer comes with Apple's Airport Extreme card standard. This is a bonus as in previous models this was an additional upgrade that would cost about ($100).
I would recommend this computer to consumers that truly require a mobile solution, as transporting this computer is very easy due to both its size and weight. Another cheaper option for Mac users would be for a 12"iBook, as that would even be cheaper, but it lacks some of the 12" PowerBook features such as upgraded video card, processor, 60 Gig HD, and slightly smaller size.
Finally, what makes this computer truly desirable (at least to me) is its outstanding aesthetics. This computer is 'smart looking' and the drool factor is only accentuated by its aluminum enclosure, and aluminum coloured keyboard. Very nice and modern looking to say the least.
