Buy this PowerBook and never look back. This is an AMAZING product! You won't be disappointed.
I just graduated school and wanted to treat myself to a laptop for graduation. I previously had a Compaq 1230 so anything really would have been an upgrade. That said, this laptop blows everything else away. I looked at various brands and decided I wanted a mac. They look cool, are stable, and just work.
I narrowed my search down to the 12" PowerBook, 15" PowerBook, and 14" iBook. I finally chose the 12" Powerbook because of a number of factors. The $1399 price tag was the same as the iBook. The PowerBook had more features like Bluetooth included, DVI out, audio-in, faster system bus, faster memory, and the aluminum shell.
The 12" PowerBook and the 14" iBook have the same resolution so they show the same amount of stuff on the screen at any given time. The iBook has larger pixels so everything just looks larger. For this reason, I chose the compactness of the 12" PowerBook over the bulkier iBook.
I love everything about this laptop. The best thing is that it just works. It took virtually no setup to make it work seamlessly on my wireless internet. The controls and operation of OS X are very intuitive and easy to use. The aluminum case looks awesome and the glowing apple is the icing on the cake. Jealous stares abound when I go out with this laptop.
I am 110% happy with my purchase. This laptop is wonderful now and expandable so it will be functional for a long time to come. I would suggest that anyone looking to buy a laptop and not spend a fortune to buy this 12" PowerBook. Unless you're a hardcore user, this is more than you need anyway.
