The Bottom Line:
This laptop is worth saving up for.
Apple is at the top of the game when it comes to design. The blueprints for the current Macbook Pro were made 5 years ago when they made the Aluminum Powerbook G4 back when they weren't using Intel processors yet. The G4 was a great design but the drawback was a very slow processor but the current Intel Core 2 Duos takes care of that.
Apple laptops are known for being thin and sleek. There are not extraneous things sticking out of them. Everything looks like it was planned to the minute detail down to the AC power adapter and even the packaging! I don't even want to know how much it costs for all the packing materials. And unlike other shipping boxes from companies like Dell these boxes will survive multiple trips in case something goes wrong with your computer and you have to send it in.
As for the computer itself there are plenty of reviews you can read about the speed and included software. What I want to say is how fully featured this thing is. They included all the everyday stuff that people need and some more. The integrated non bulky webcam is my favorite. You can use it to do video chats or to just record yourself for a video blog or to upload a quick clip to youtube. This functionality is built into iMovie by the way.
The laptop is really thin and is surprisingly light for its size. Other 15" laptop can weigh a full pound or more because they use cheaper plastics and generally use a bulkier design. Battery life is adequate but could be better. The main thing for me is weight though because if something is heavy people don't tend to bring it around. This slips easily into a backpack or messenger bag and you basically have a portable workstation with you. Price is high for a laptop but you get what you pay for.
