Apple MacBook Pro 15.4 in. (MB133LL/A) Notebook

I've been a longtime Windows user. I love my iPods and have heard so many good things about Macs that when my laptop needed to be replaced, I decided to switch. Unfortunately, I'm not happy with my Mac.

The OS is generally nice. The overall design of the laptop is attractive. But I have some complaints that make it likely that I will return it.

The biggest issue is the screen. I need to use larger fonts, and find that a resolution of around 1152x720 works great. However, on anything but the highest resolution the fonts are excessively fuzzy. I do not have this problem on any other machines that I own or work with, so I'm not sure what the cause is, but I definitely notice that I can't read text on this Mac for very long before my eyes are tired.

Secondly, the screen doesn't tilt back far enough. If I sit on the couch with my feet up, the screen can't be put into a comfortable position. Come on, it's a laptop, and I should be able to use it in "non-traditional" positions.

I also find that the edge of the keyboard is very square, almost sharp. If I'm browsing the web, it creates dents in my palms. If I'm typing, it causes discomfort where my arms rest on the edge. My Dell has nicely rounded edges that are very comfortable.

The "low and wide" aspect ratio of the screen is great for movies, but not at all useful for reading or web pages. I watch very few movies on my computer, but spend a lot of time reading. Not sure why I didn't realize this while looking at the machine in the store, but it just didn't occur to me at that time.

Apple charges premium prices for these computers, and I'm sorry to say that I feel it is absolutely not worth it.
