Switch from PC Easy as Can Be

Absolutely thrilled I made the switch, already contemplating getting another for the kids. Goodbye, virus hassles!
I thought about switching to a Mac for several years. The thing that finally drove me to do it was a simple mention from a friend who had switched. She said, "I love it because when I turn it on, it's on." That did it.
The PurchaseThe expenditure was a bit more than a comparable (if you can use that word) pc/laptop. That said, the actual purchase (I bought a refurbished machine from the apple store online) was a breeze. The machine arrived - using standard shipping! - in 36 hours. It worked out of the box.
The Pleasant SurprisesAnd boy, did it work out of the box. When I got the box, I turned on my 4 year-old dell pc, and started to open the apple box. By the time I'd busted through all the packaging and protective foam, my old laptop had booted up. I double-clicked to open Outlook, and went back to the Mac. I had the Mac up and running (it had recognized my wireless network) before Outlook had downloaded four of my incoming messages!
It took me all of ten minutes to unpackage and install Office:Mac 2008 Home & Student Edition.
And the thing that made my jaw drop: the touchpad actually depresses when you want to 'click' on something. (Forget about 'double-tapping the touchpad) Wildly intelligent! Why that nifty feature hasn't found its way to the PC world is beyond me.
The SwitchI found a cool online bookmark program (Xmarks, a Firefox download) that transferred all of my bookmarks, which are as important as my files are to me.
I used a flash drive to move over a few files I needed to work on immediately. The Mac opened all flawlessly. The differences between the Mac versions of Word, Excel, and e-mail package Entourage (akin to Outlook) and the pc versions are negligible.
It's that intuitive. It's that easy.
Apparently all those incompatibility stories I've heard are either overblown or old news - I haven't had anything 'lost in translation.'
Minor InconveniencesI admit there are a few things I'm having trouble getting used to, such as -no backspace key-no "home" or "end" keys- and ---- um, actually, that's about it. I think I'll cope :)
