The Bottom Line:
If you already have a monitor and want a competent Apple desktop, this one will be great.
The Apple G4 "AGP Graphics" model was one of the first G4 desktops produced by Apple. I am still using this desktop at work doing desktop publishing and find it satisfactory in 2004 for graphics, email, web, and most applications.
Processor speed is 500 mhz. RAM installed is 256 MB, but there are 4 total RAM bays that allow for more than 1 GB or more. The DVD drive is nice but having a CD burner installed would be great. 2 USB ports and 2 firewire ports make this a robust machine.
The system installed is 9.22, although any version of OSX should be fine.
System 9 is notorious for eating up memory resources quickly. I use a lot of Adobe products which are RAM hog and if you plan on doing extensive, memory intensive projects, you might want to look for a faster machine.
The unit is fairly quiet with the fan in the back. The DVD drive is easy to access, but USB and Firewire ports are a little tricky to get to. Aesthetically the model is typical of Apple, nice curves with muted gray without Imac flash.
Hooked up to an ethernet connection, download speeds and web surfing speed is excellent. The hard drive is big enough to handle large files in regards to processing speed and storage space
