PB 3400c does the job

Pros It is a Mac, hot-swappable slots, lots of places to plug/insert things.
Cons Not a G3, This is an old computer - 1997
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Good machine for its age. Runs software from the late 90's with ease. Get a G3 & you'll be happier.
I purchased this laptop used in 1998. It has given me no problems since. It came with 16M ram with even at the time was small. I've had 48 in it since and that is now at the low end of what one needs to function today's software. I have been running OS 8.1 and older versions of MS software. If you don't need the latest and greatest software, but something handy to run Word/XL on (and GAMES of course) than this will do the job. You have hot swappable cd/floppy, optional Zip. 2 pcmcia slots, infrared networking, internal 33 modem, scsi port. It is not usb compatible as far as I know. The 200mhz processor does alright. It can seem sluggish at times, but more ram would probably help. Classic games (which are better than the newer memory hogs) run fine. I've carried this a number of places and have had no internal damage. The screen only has one bad pixel and is very clear....much better than screens from the mid-1990's. It could likely handle OS8.6 but not OSX. It is a great space-saver if you don't want to mess with desktops. In the 21st century this laptop is approaching "word processor" status, but if you have access to older versions of software that will run on it, it gets the job done.
