Cons
Only 1 optical drive. Not very upgradeable
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Windows xp killer
I customized my emac before I bought it so the specs on this site might be different from what I have. I have a g4 processor with 1.25 ghz, 1 gb of ram, 160 gb ultra ata hard drive, and a radeon 9200 32 mb video card. The ram is in huge amounts and the hard drive is huge.
Software: The emac has the mac os x "panther" operating system. It includes software like garage band, iMovie, iPhoto, iDVD, AppleWorks,iTunes, World Book 2004, and Tony Hawk pro skateboarding game.
This computer can play games but not many of them. If you are a gamer stay away from this computer. It can play unreal tournament 2003 well though. If you are a casual gamer this computer will satisfy you. This computer is very good at digital music and burning dvd. The emac has only 1 superdrive. So how do you burn cd's? You buy another optical drive for 50 bucks and hook it up through a usb cord. You can burn cd's, home movies on dvd, and much, much more on this emac. Although 1.25 ghz is low by todays stndards it runs faster than a pentium 4 2.5 ghz. Why? Because mac os x does not take up nearly as much resourses as windows xp. Mac os x is also a LOT more stable than windows xp. I'm a happy camper.
