Great Machine, could be faster

Pros Great display, handles multiple apps at once, user friendly.
Cons Slowish boot up and shut down, speakers could be louder, runs a little hot.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  Buy it if you find a good deal on it. It isn't the latest model, but is a great overall versatile machine.
I have used my ibook for a little over two years now. Always reliable, could be faster. Takes a while to boot up and shut down, for example. Otherwise I run several apps at a time on this machine with no problem.

Nice comfortable keyboard and great trackpad.

This machine has a great display resolution ~ I often watch movies or web tv on it. The bottom of the laptop runs pretty hot but not prohibitively so.

The speaker on the left side goes out occasionally, and both speakers could be louder; I use external speakers sometimes.

A new battery lasts about five hours depending on what you are doing; you can turn the brightness down as far as possible for longer life and take the battery off entirely when laptop is plugged in to save battery lifespan. You only get so many cycles on your battery, and with each cycle, the time you get out of it decreases.

All in all a good machine and very portable. You can get a neoprene laptop case and then just pop the laptop into any tote bag, which makes it less likely to be stolen than in a traditional laptop case. I would suggest that you have extra ram installed and get a nice big harddrive....
