Pros fast processor and upgrade friendly!
Cons I can't marry this thing!!
Recommended it? No

I have been an avid Macintosh user for well over 15 years now. I enjoy the simplicity of the software and the clearness of the picture, especially when I was doing web design.

For the past 5 years I have been using a Mac Powerbook 1400c, and it has been a great computer to have, yet it is... Read full review »

Cons Eject Button Bizarre

I remember the night I received my first iBook (the blueberry variety) in October of 1999, it was an exciting evening, I remember even hugging the courier because I was so excited to see him walking up my steps with not 1 but 2 boxes from Apple (we ordered 2). The novelty of a new computer wore off... Read full review »

Ain't no toilet seat...

byiBen Jun 23, 2001

Pros Great Value, extra sharp screen, solid keyboard, fast, svelte, good drive selection,...
Cons ludicrous memory prices, awkward CDtray eject, disappointing combo-drive burn speeds,...
Recommended it? Yes

The first iBook was, like the first iMac, trying to make too radical of a statement. The monstrosity weighed in at nearly 7 pounds. When opened, it looked like an orange toilet seat. When closed, it looked like a Hello Kitty purse (especially with that handle!). The colors Apple picked made it look... Read full review »

Pros new color, faster processor, larger HD
Cons no DVD

As the owner of an iBook (okay, actually 2 of them) here are the reasons, Apple won't get another $1800 of my hard earned cash. But if you haven't yet purchased an iBook this is the one to buy. Confused? Okay let me explain, if you don't already own an iBook, buy this one... if you do, save your... Read full review »

Pros best-looking laptop available
Cons premium cost, & dealing with idiots.

Okay; I've seen a few epinions pop up recently about the iBook.

I have to say, I thought the net community was a little more enlightened than what I see here.

I can't believe so many people are letting the color - or more specifically, the 'sissy' color - shape their... Read full review »

Cons No slot-loading drive

As soon as I saw Apple's new iBook I wanted one. The new variation of Apple's entry level laptop was introduced on May 1, 2001. Absolutely everything was changed on the new iBook. It is smaller, lighter, faster, has a CD-RW drive available, and is cheaper than the old model. It is pretty amazing... Read full review »

Take a Look at the iBook!

Pros portable, internal modem, macintosh user-friendly, sufficient speaker
Cons no floppy disk drive, only one USB port

I have used and enjoyed Macintosh computers for years, preferring them over the "C:" cursors of the pc's - I LIKE cute little icons, and "pointing and clicking" - I bought the iBook in October 2000, and have enjoyed it immensely- it actually has nearly 3 times the power of my desktop computer, so... (Last Updated: 8/15--at bottom) As soon as I saw the delicious looking iBooks on television I had to have one. I've been on a Mac for about 9 years now, and even though I had not purchased an iMac (I wasn't ready to buy new USB compatible printers and tablets and external drives too) I was eager to... The iBook is worth an iLook!

Cons The trackpad is sometimes too sensitive (but that is a personal opinion).

It all started about a month ago...

I was desperate to have a laptop for the time I spend travelling in the summer. At first, I was contemplating purchasing an old/used laptop from my brother. I used his laptop last summer and hated it. But, it worked, and I was happy. It has no drive... Read full review »

The iBook as a computer for presentations

Pros Everything but video mirroring
Cons Direct video output.
Recommended it? No

I have owned a Blueberry iBook for seven months and have tried to put it through it's paces. Each time it has performed wonderfully...even better then the Compac laptops on my fellow employees have, that is until now.

One of the weak areas is the lack of a video out port. Various companies... Read full review »
