Yes
First: I admit that I don't own this computer, YET. However I have used a friends iMac DV special edition several times, so I do feel qualified to discuss it. Plus, I do plan to buy one soon.
The first thing to address is the machine's tech specs. It comes with a 400 MHz G3 processor, 128MB memory, 13GB storage, DVD drive, 56k modem, and 10/100 Mbps ethernet. More complete specs can be found at Apple's web site:

Now lets take a look at how the machine works: speed? Oh yeah! This computer is quicker than any pentium II machine I have used, much quicker. In fact, the speed is amazing. And it never locks up, as MS computers seem to do often.
Ease of use? A brain damaged monkey could figure this out. OS9 makes win98 seem impossible to use.
How about software? The iMac DV comes with great software, including iMovie, which makes video editing a snap. You can easily edit, add sound effects, and titles.
Internet use? This is THE computer for the web surfer!
Obviously I love this computer, but I do have a complaint about it: the new G4 processors are faster. Much Faster. The iMac should come with a G4. Oh, and the iMac DV special addition should also come in lime, my favorite color.
