Great for beginners

Pros Ease of use and setup
Cons Lack of software
Recommended it? Yes
I admit I am somewhat biased, but I truly love my iMac. I owned a Mac previously and loved it and will probably always be true to Apple. But I have say if I were asked to recommend a computer for someone who has little computer experience--iMac is the only way to go.

When you see this ads for iMacs stating that you can get on the internet in 10 minutes, believe it. The computer comes out of the box all set. All software is already loaded. There is a huge poster that shows exactly how to hook up the power cables, the keyboard and mouse. If you already have internet service you just need to plug in the phone line and you are set.

Even if you aren't ready for internet access yet, the iMac has a couple of great tutorials for the beginner. They show exactly how to operate the mouse and show how to start some of the applications included.

The speed of the iMac is great. I have since added a printer and a scanner and have had no problem loading the appropriate software and running these accessories.

The only thing I really see as a problem is the amount of software available for macs. I think this is changing, though slowly. I definitely see more software titles compatible with macs now than I did a year or two ago, but still lacking in all areas.
