Everyone is talking about how good the iMac computer is. It really is not that great. I have owned one for about a year and a half and I cannot wait to get a new one. I am defiantly going to a PC instead of a MAC. I have had Mac computers my whole life and it has finally come to me that there are so many things that I cant do with my iMac that I can do with a PC.
The people at the store lie to you. Watch out for that. They say that you can use windows software on your iMac. What they don't tell you is the catch. There is always a catch. You have to buy a Mac version of windows. It is not an actual version it is just a simulator and that runs about $150-200. When you try to run that your iMac does not have enough memory so you have to but $100-200 worth of memory. Then once you get all of that you can run windows software but the computer crashes often. Once you buy all of that stuff you have used enough to buy a good PC, printer and scanner.
The iMac's are vastly over rated. It is due to the way they look. They look cool and that's why everyone buys them. I will tell you the truth, that is why I bought an iMac because of the way it looks.
I also bought a UMAX scanner for my iMac. Another bad choice. It only scans when it feels like it and it is impossible to get the pictures the way you want. I got a picture editor with my computer and all it does is make the scanned picture even worse. You can't see them as it is, I do not need a program to make it worse.
In conclusion I highly recommend you not to buy and iMac. Use the extra cash and buy a PC. You will be happy.
