My first iMac...was a diehard PC user!
Pros
Out of the box to direct Internet connection in 10 minutes! Extreme ease of use.
Cons
Optical Mouse doesn't have wheel.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
The Bottom Line....if you're sick of PC's blue screen or it gives you the freeze-stare, go for Mac!!!
Ordered from MacWarehouse because they included free additional 256MB RAM & free TV Tuner.
I have been a PC user for over 10 years. I'm sure many PC users have experienced the famous "blue screen" death! Several months before I obtained this cute & wonderful iMac, a friend of mine seeked my advice with his G4. With no prior exposure to Mac, I played with my friend's Mac to get an idea. I didn't realize that it's extremely user-friendly. After looking around and tweaking my friend's Mac, I was able to solve the problems my friend had.
About a month ago, my PC finally croaked (due to dysfunctional motherboard & a worn-out HD) after 4 years of HEAVY use. My friend loaned me his old PowerBook (a measly 112mhz processor!), I had been playing around with it and getting myself familiarized with Mac. I have decided that my next computer would be a Mac!
Have had this iMac for almost three weeks and it HASN'T yet froze!! (except for Internet Explorer which would quit unexpectly, but natually that's to be expected knowing it's from you-know-which-company).
Honestly, I wish my very first computer was a Mac! (this computer is my 4th computer and more likely it'll be the last one for many years...hearing that there's quite a lot much-older Mac still running out there).
Based on my computing & Internet needs, I picked this 500mhz, 128MB (plus free 256MB) RAM, CD-RW, OS 9.2, it came with OS X 10.1 CD which I immediately installed (the installation went very flawlessly).
Please excuse my not-so-perfect grammer since I'm deaf. At least I tried my best... ;)
A happy Mac camper!!!!
