The Bottom Line:
The bottom line is there is no package on the market that is as complete and as powerful with as many features as the New Imac G4 800mhz!
What can I say? In my mind this has been the most anticipated computer in recent times and now I am able to experience for myself why. This computer has everything you need and then some. This computer has Great graphics, which I personally tested out immediately after I got the computer. At the time of purchase i also bought Giants:Citizen Kabuto, which is an excellent game, I figured I could test out the power and graphics with this game. In truth the game really put me to the test, the imac had no problem at all keeping up with the game. The GeForce 2 graphics card kept the game play running and looking beautiful with no lag at all, simply amazing! The power behind the 800mhz G4 processor kept me right on my toes as nothing in this game could slow it down. After testing the graphics and power out and deciding that I was more than happy with both of those aspects I decided to try out all of the included software, some of which I have used already and some of which is new to me. First I decided to give the all new iphoto a test run. I plugged in my sony digital camera, and bam, iphoto opened right up, all I needed to do was click the upload button, thats it, I had already established a photo album. I must admit I was highly impressed with the slideshow feature in iphoto, the music may be kinda cheesy for some, but I thought it was rather soothing while watching pictures of Limey(my old 400mhz g3 imac DV) fade in and out, it really is ingenious. Next I proceeded to check out idvd and yet this was nothing short of pure genius. Maybe idvd wouldn't suit your seasoned producer, but for home dvd making it truly is unbelievable. I started making my dvd menu and let me tell you it was as easy as turning your computer on. In no time at all I had a professional looking dvd menu that had music and animation, but frankly I couldn't stop there, I needed to play with other things. Next I moved onto itunes2. I had used itunes in the past but this new revision is much nicer with its built in EQ which I found great while switching through different types of music, and it seems to me the visuals have been upgraded as well, they look stunning. Now the computer itself is visually stunning, the "Snow" color is truly eye catching especially in a world of what is commonly beige towers. The imac's monitor seems to float as if suspended by air and to adjust it you just need to use the slightest touch. The movement of the swivel monitor is very smooth but on the same hand it isn't "loose" so dont think it will go out of place on its own. The new White keyboard and mouse really round out the look of the new imac and make the whole package come together. All in all there isn't another package out there that offers this combination of speed, power and performance, not to mention the software to take advantage of all it can and will do.
