At the time of this opinion, the purchase was made less than 1 month ago (July 3, 06). When watching the first few movies, I noticed that when I came to the end of the movie, the DVD would "freeze" or "skip". After I watched 5 movies, I decided to get to the bottom of the problem. I did notice there were "heavy" circular scratch marks on the edge of each movie I viewed. I then realized that the computer wire tape that controls the reader head was touching the DVD as it spun, causing the scratching at the end of the movie, causing the skipping and freezing - of course ruining the DVD. Target Customer Service was able to "refund" $25 - not even a comparison to the 5 movies ruined by the player. Although, the player is a nice one and the picture is great.
