The Bottom Line:
I have learned a LOT about car audio, and installed litterally hundreds of systems. I have NEVER seen another product this poorly made. Stay away, far away
This was my first cd player. I got my new truck and excitedly went down to Kmart to get a cd player for it, being that the tape player that came in the truck did not work. Well, 3 months later I wanted to throw this thing through Kmarts glass doors. Here is three reasons I hated it.
#1
The face is detachable, but not electronic. Little pegs stick through the back of the face and push corresponding buttons on the receiver body. After about a month the little pegs began to wear and buttons would not work, or stick. Another downside is that you can run the thing without a face, just use your finger to push the buttons. Great security there.
#2
Another problem was the unit doing things on its own. All a sudden it would change cd tracks, or jump from cd to radio. And half the time I had to turn it on and off a half dozen times to get it to stop showing error codes.
#3
Last but not least, the lights. The green glow that was so cool the day I put it in quickly became a random thing. It would cut in and out, and even in the day the led digits themselves would come and go. One minute you are turning up the volume (which got stuck VERY often) and the next your cd player is totally blank, yet playing still.
I am not alone with these problems. Two of my friends bought the exact deck when they seen mine. One did not have the buttons sticking problems, but we all had come-and-go lights, error codes, and gremlins that liked to make strange things happen. Learn from out mistake, do not buy this deck!
