Good choice for an 8 inch player
Pros
Good screen, long battery life, good value
Cons
High heat, sensitive to dirty discs
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Don't overlook this if you want an affordable 8 incher
I have read a lot of negative comments about the Audiovox D1800 but don't agree, at least so far.
I obtained my unit at a lower-than-internet price for my son to use during long road trips. He absolutely loves the thing.
The screen is great -- bright and clear -- and the controls are well designed, as is the remote.
While the speakers leave a lot to be desired, I use external speakers anyway and they are great with this player.
It comes with numerous cords and connectors, including an optical and RCA plugs, earphones, and the car cord.
Yes, there is a lot of heat on the bottom, but then other players have this as well.
And the battery is, I believe, the longest playing of any available on any DVD player. At 5400 milliamps, it lasts just under 4 hours (but is expensive to replace, at $120 from AudioVox)
