The Bottom Line:
XM service is expensive this makes it portable so you get more from your subscription.
If you have more then one car and want XM in your home. But do not want to have to pay for extra radio's this is the way to go.I still have two of these recievers. But one is in my home. The other one is used in 3 cars and I use it on my John Deere during long days in the field. No way was I going to pay the extra $6.99 per month for each hook up.Wake up XM you might get more customers if you only made them pay the monthly fee and they could have multible radio's.I have GM cars and could have had it built in.What a racket that could have been.
I have never had a freeze up problem or a problem with either of mine. They are not pretty to look at however.A nice color display and color to match my car would be nice. But Oh well! They could also come up with a better mounting setup.Larger preset button would also been nice.
You plug the radio into your Cigar lighter. Then place the magnetic antenna of your car.If your lucky you have a tape deck in your car. That works good to get the sound to your cars audio system. But if not you use the built in FM modulator. That thanks to the FCC does not have the range of the earlier models.Because they say was causing interferance so were made to not recieve the signal as well.So now you have to place a wired device on your cars FM antenna.Called Sure Connect that is included and does allow for clear reception through your car stereo.
I use mine every day and could not go back to FM there are fancier units. But not for the price of this one.
