Pros Pipes the sound into your ears at just the right (adjustable) volume
Cons The IR signal has to be within direct view of the screen/stereo to work
Recommended it? Yes
Bought the TVListener in order to listen to my bedroom TV without bothering my husband's sleep.  All in all, it is not perfect, but it has become a welcome addition. Many times, when we watch TV, we hear something but we do not know exactly what was said.  This happens particularly in movies where the music or noise drown out the words.  We had been using the DVR remote to roll it back until we understood what was said.  Now it is not necessary to do so for the most part.  The technology is not perfect: you get static at times if your head is not pointed directly at the receiver lights.  If you turn your head to the side, you will lose the signal until you turn your head towards the receiver again.  We find this a minor inconvenience, particularly for the price paid (about $35).  I bought another unit shortly after the first one, so that each of us can have a headphone and adjust the volume for our specific needs (we are not ready for hearing aids, but we do have some hearing loss).  I keep one receiver in the den for stereo use, and keep one in the bedroom.  The headphones travel back and forth.
