An excellent alternative to the 980
I've been driving with radar detectors since 1984, when I bought my first SuperFox Vixen II. since then, I've owned detectors by Uniden, Cobra ("Be Careful! Slow Down!"), Whistler, and Cincinnati Microwave (Escort/passport). My last detector was an Escort Solo 4, and when that one finally gave up... Read full review »
Excellent Detection At a Great Value
The New 900 series Top of the Line Class(excluding 945, 946), offers strong detection in today's world of traffic radar. The newer design is strong, heavier, better detection (then the older 855sti), and BRIGHTER text.
The Bel 950 comes with Visor mount, windshield mount, velcro,and...

Spend some SAVE lots
First off I want to tell you a story that actually happened to me. I had always wanted a radar detector for a long time but just never bought one because I didnt want to spend the money. Finally I came across the Bell-950. I bought one and installed it in my car. About a week after i bought it I... Read full review »
Great Sensitivity + Great Features + Great Price = Great Detector
I first decided that I wanted a radar detector after I got a speeding ticket for going 50 mph in a 25 mph zone at 12:30 at night. So after getting two points on my license and paying a $150 fine (I went to court and got the ticket lowered to 39 mph in a 25 mph zone). I am 17 years old living in NJ,... Read full review »
Speed and Get Away with it (Most of the Time)
It was a cold and dark night. A low thick fog obscured the road bed as I made my way home. It was almost like driving on a storm cloud. For some reason I felt compelled to drive fast. I found my foot leaning inward on the pedal. 60...70...80...95...I thought I had nothing to worry about. After all... Read full review »
Forget Tickets
I have got 32 tickets. Yes I said 32. The Judge told me I couldn't get a ticket in 4 months or my License would be suspended for 6 months. So you guessed it I Invested in a "BEL 950". Its been 3 months and I haven't had a problem with tickets since. The "BEL 950" makes hardly any noise at all. It... Read full review »
Bel helps avoid tickets...if you are not stupid
I purchased this detector to accompany me on my many miles around Nevada and Lake Tahoe. If anyone has driven around here CHP OR NHP really like to crack down on tourist speeding; snowing or not.
Nevada tends to use KA and often leave the radar on all the time. CHP tends to use K band and...

Bel vs. Escort - I don't think so
Bel and Escort have been arch rivals for decades. Now it appears that they are the same company somehow. In any event, I have owned both and find that the Passport 8500 is easier to use, has minimum false alarms, and doesn't drive you crazy with chirps and dings.
Passport has an easy to...
