First off I want to tell you a story that actually happened to me. I had always wanted a radar detector for a long time but just never bought one because I didnt want to spend the money. Finally I came across the Bell-950. I bought one and installed it in my car. About a week after i bought it I was on my way home and was traveling down I-95. The speed limit is 65 but I was doing roughly 100 mph. I was tearing down the road when the Bell-950 went off. I jammed on the brakes and slowed down to 65.
I looked around to see if I could see the cop and about a 1/2 mile down the road there he was sitting on the side of the road. If it wasnt for the Bell-950 I would of been nailed with a high dollar ticket.
Some of the features that I like about this model are the adjustable volume levels. You can set it very loud or soft depending on what you have going on inside your car. The voice alert is also a nice feature and it can detect X, K, KA, and laser bands in 360 degrees. It also has a silent button so you dont have to listen to it beep all the time. Another nice feature is you can set the brightness of the lights. You could either make them dimmer or brighter depending on what you like better. The option of City/Highway is also nice to filter out any non-police signals in a city area. Finally the best thing about it is the ease of installation. You can easily mount it on your dash, windshield, or visor in a matter of minutes.
