Beltronics Express 916 Radar Detector

I purchased this at Circuit City for about $100 and the 3 year extended warranty for $15. I had to return my first detector because the "pixel" broke, the display is (obviously) digital and one of the tiny lights burned out for one of the numbers. It was not a big deal but I spent $15 for the warranty and wanted to use it. This model detects very well with (in most cases) plenty of time to react. I am 16 driving a new Benz so I tend to drive rather fast, I always have plenty of time to react even at speeds of 80-95 mph. After having this in my car for a couple months, I will not drive without it. The emergency vehicle warning thing is useless, it only works if your city has the technology which obviously mine does not. The Bel 916 is VERY loud, even with the radio on very high. If you buy this detector, you will learn to ignore it when it says "X" band, the ONLY band that is for real is "KA" or "K". KA lights up and the voice with tell you and beep. Also, I always leave it on highway mode for better protection, as I would rather have a false alarm than a ticket. There is no reason to spend any more than you have to on a detector, this Bel works GREAT. Also, I would get the extended warranty since you will be keeping the unit in your car all the time. In Ohio weather it stays in my car year round and I am protected just in case the heat or cold messes with it.
