Beltronics Pro RX55 Radar Detector

I recently bought a RX55 from Cardomain. The price was $229 with not tax or shipping. I had it in two days. I could have bought it on eBay for $177 plus $15 for shipping. So for an extra $30 I bought it from a reputable dealer. I did a lot of research and I really like the Beltronics product line. I would probably only by Beltronics in the future. I looked at the RX65 and the Valentine One. The were both more expensive than RX55 by $100. I didn't think that the few extra features were worth it. As for out of the box experience, it was not so good. Alarm was too loud and X band from the supermarket got picked up. I was about too sending it back. But after reading the manual, I was able to get the volume to a perfect level. Also with just enough programmable feature I was able to disable X band on city but leave it on for the highway setting. I think that the key to not getting a ticket is to be very observant. On the off chance that I might be on the phone, listening to my radio, or talking to my family it is a great little insurance policy. My friend is a CHP and says that if he wants to get me no detector will help, I believe him he is a sneaky guy. SO, Drive safe and be observant.
