SUPER performance! Compared to Passport 8500!!

After testing some big guys like the Passport 8500 I realize that this Beltronics RX55 has Super Fast detection and costs a less.
This Radar Detector from Beltronics is super HOT!!! I'm no lazy reviewer who is just feeling like writing junk. Hear me out... Over the past year I've tested several Radar Detector Units and here is the bottom line: Cobra Radar Detectors will do if you dont mind a speeding ticket (BAD PERFORMANCE), Whistler are Better than Cobras but still wouldn't recommend. PASSPORT 8500, now this is a serious player. This Radar Detector is no nonsense, performance is Heavy but so is the Price $300. I sold my Passport and this is what I have now, a Beltronics RX55 with POP protection. So far... FANTASTIC! I feel this radar detector gives me awesome performance!! As I compare it to the PASSPORT 8500 I used to have I noticed that for $80 or so less I'm having the same performance, POP protection and Lighting Fast KA detection. This Radar integrates the latest technology used by law enforcement. So if you're out there thinking what Radar Detector is best, let me tell you that I've tested the Best of the best and this Beltronics RX55 really impresses me with performance and Value. I bought the passport 8500 and the BELTRONICS RX55 to these guys and they offer great service. Bottom line is that I greatly recommend the RX55.

The Beltronics RX55 delivers super performance and can be compared to big boys like the Escort Passport 8500. The RX55 has a black case that's made of plastic, it doesn't feel as solid as the Passport and the unit isn't as heavy. The suction cups are good and deliver good performance in positioning and holding the radar since the unit is pretty light. The RX55 comes with a coiled cord that is pretty long and conects to the unit using a
"Telephone like" input. The RX55 uses many of the Beltronics RX65 accesories as well as the Passport 8500, since Beltronics and Escort have united in the same company. The RX55 has voice alerts as well as audio alerts and you can choose between both or just one of the two. The brightness of the display is good. The only negative thing I encountered was that the LCD display is made in a way that can be read clearly when the unit is mounted just about the windshields. If you mount the unit in the Visor area you might not have a good or clear view of the LCD. The volume of the unit can be adjusted with no difficulty and the unit has automute. The unit can be set up in differrent ways to satisfy your needs and configuration is pretty easy, almost the same as the Passport 8500. The detection is AWESOME!! I've tried some radar detectors including the Passport 8500 (which I own) and the performance is great. Overall the RX55 is a unit designed with style and good functions that deliver good performance and features at a lower price than many others like the Passport 8500 and Valentine1.
