EXTREME value.......

Pros range, multiple threat display, voice alert, price compared to other 'top' detectors
Cons coiled power cord. would like a straight wire smartplug. performance cons=none!!
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  worth every penny
After reading many many reviews online about the V1,8500 and 9500, and the RX65, I bought an RX65 (version 6.3)about 2 months ago and this thing has already paid for itself 10 fold. I purchased it after my previous, and lower caliber, detector failed to save me(i saw the unmarked and slowed and was only given about 100ft warning by the detector)....it was a uniden. so i told myself...time to upgrade.
In the 2 months ive owned it, ive had about 10 encounters with visually confirmed police radar, and given PLENTY of warning.

One case rings most true.....i was driving home from a concert last week, at about 3am, and using the threat display on the rx65......i was alerted to a K band, as it grew stronger, another K band threat came in....followed by a 3rd. As the 1st threat reached a level of 9.....i had already slowed to the speed limit long b4, i saw a state trooper hiding in the median....but threat Kband 2 was still climbing so i stayed at the speed limit. after about 1/4 mile i passes a second state trooper hiding in the median, but the 3rd threat displayed(on the same band i might ad) began to climb, so i stayed at the speed limit and after another 1/2 mile.....a THIRD state trooper hiding in the median!. clearly a trap set up to catch us radar detector users.
I drive to work everyday about 45 miles each way....and had about 7 other encounters with state and local police radar, and have a ticket count of ZERO. What else can you say?
the features are good, the mount holds tight, and the detector performs TOP NOTCH!!!!.
