Beltronics Vector 955 Radar Detector

Ok. I had read many reviews on radar detectors before buying the Beltronics Vector 955. I found that this detector was the most bang for the buck. If you are looking for a detector that will keep the average intelligent person from getting a traffic violation then this one is it. This detector will not pull your foot off the gas pedal nor will it push your foot on the brake. It will tell you that radar is ahead. This weekend, Houston to Dallas on Interstate 45, 7 highway patrol cars and 2 local law enforcement, ZERO tickets. This was at a rate of 90mph. All radars were picked-up at least 1.5 miles from the source. I had three cars following me at one time at 89mph, when all of a sudden the car directly behind me hit the brakes and fell back when he had a visual on a DPS car coming the opposite way. My 955 did not show that he was running radar and evidently he wasn't becuase he did not even slow down to turn around nor did I. I have alot of confidence in this detector on the highway. The only down side to this detector is it cuts into your mpg's on the highway. I use to get 16 mpg but with this detector I only managed 13 at the speed I was travelling. Oh well! I did this to see how effective this detector was. I will never drive this fast again as it is not safe nor economical.
