Won't replace your house stereo, but for $23 you won't get anything better.
Pros
Very clear sound, great design, comes with wall mount and speaker stands.
Cons
Not very loud, attaching them to the monitor is pain.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Good sound quality, looks HOT. If you want to use your computer as a house stereo - look for something more powerful.
Sound quality:
Sound is exceptional, not as good as when I had my computer attached to a $500 sound system, but it actually gets close. It's not super loud, you can't blast music on it, but it's plenty of sound for computer games. Also if you don't mind listening to music really really loud this piece is enough. The 3D mode actually DOES work. I have my computer in the corner of the room, and it sounds almost the same weather you're sitting in front of PC or in the opposite corner on the couch.
Controls
The volume control, base/treble, power & 3DSound are on the subwoofer, which usually stands on the floor, so to use the volume you have to either squeeze under the table, or use software controls / keyboard volume control, I don't see it as a problem though, but some people might find it inconvenient. Also the subwoofer is not that big, so you might want to put it on the table, that's the great thing about subwoofers - when sound is really low (I think below 120 HZ) human ears cannot pick up where the sound's coming from.
Sizes:
I know - the sizes are listed with the specs when you buy it, but who's going to take out a ruler and actually try to picture how big this thing is. Expect speakers to be bigger (but of course not thicker, wider and taller) then what they look like on the picture, and subwoofer to be smaller. My subwoofer stands behind the PC (on the floor) so that you can't see it at all.
Colors:
I got the lighter color set, and it looks grrreat. The outside frame on the speakers es exactly the color of my monitor (regular off-white color) and the plates on the inside of the speaker are silver-metallic, so when the monitor is turned off it they MATCH NICELY.
Durability:
The plates that produce sound are exposed, I'm not sure what they're made of but material looks pretty durable. My speakers fell off the monitor a few times, sometimes upside down before I figured out how to mount them (see third paragraph), and nothing happened to them. Unless you keep a dart board next to them I don't see how they'll break. Of course if it's in the 12 year old's room it can easily get shot down by a baseball, but not too many things can withstand that.
