Great Speakers at a Great Price

I've often fealt that the price of computer speakers is artificially inflated and these speakers prove that theory. For less than $40, I picked up a pair of these speakers and have never regretted it.
This speaker set reliably produces a wide range of sound comparable to speakers that cost anywhere from two to five times as much. The enclosures are plastic, but they are solidly assembled and don't produce any rattle. The subwoofer is very good at producing the bass sounds even at low volumes.
The controls consist of a power button, an 3D effect button, and treble, bass, and volume knobs. There is also a headphone jack, but I've never used it.
The speakers are powered at the subwoofer with a simple power pack. The connections between the subwoofer and the satellites are standard phono connections, so they should be replaceable if they ever get damaged.
The cables provided are long enough for me to comfortably place the subwoofer on the floor and the satellites on each side of my 17" monitor with my tower PC off to the side on the desk.
The only downside to these speakers is that the controls are all on the subwoofer which I keep on the floor. However, it does make a very useful footstool and I've become quite adept at toggling the push button power switch with my toes on those few occasions where I need to turn them off.
If you're looking for top of the line sound for your system, then you probably want something a little better that includes surround sound. However, if you're looking for a set of speakers that includes a subwoofer to make your games and your .mp3's more enjoyable, then these are the speakers to get.
