Blaupunkt New Orleans Minidisc am/fm car unit

Blaupunkt reputation shines through with this unit. Well made and easy to use. Very cool blue display. Nice to look at and lots of power.
Just installed this baby in my Saab today. I was apprehensive since I bought it on Ebay used and was hoping all would be ok. Hooked it up and turned it on and the first thing to make me smile was the wonderful blue display!
I didn't have the manual with me but was able to navigate through the various functions with no problem. Built in EQ with display, balance/fader/base/treble/etc all easy to use.
Very cool feature allows one to "angle" the blue display so it will "tilt" towards the drivers seating position for easier viewing. Popped in a minidisc and more smiles! I actually purchased two units the same day. The other was a Sony MDX CA680X, which I received first and installed in the car. It was one of Sony's best. All the bells and whistles, all sorts of inputs/outputs etc and it was a fine unit but I sold it in favor of the Blaupunkt and never looked back. I realize minidisc's are not as popular as cd's but I'm in favor since they sound as good as cd's and take up a lot less space. Not sure if this New Orleans is still available new, but if you get a chance to grab one used, don't hesitate. The unit has lot's of power and really in comparison, blows away the Sony. JS
