A Little Background

There are some reading the title that must be thinking, "Nooooo! Surely he isn't going to bash Bose!" and they would be wrong, to some degree. I am not here to bash, but I am certainly not going to bandwagon and sing the praises of the almighty Bose simply because... Read full review »

Pros Full sound, clear and accurate sounding mids and highs
Cons Pricey, highly focused tweeter

As some of my fellow readers know, I've been using a stereo desktop speaker set (though a good one - Klipsch ProMedia 2.1) for my modest home theater system. Basically it consists of a PC running Vista Media Center and a modest sized LCD HDTV. My friend also have a TV the same size as mine, but... Read full review »

My Bose 301 Speakers were gifted at Christmas around 3 years ago now. I was debating weather to ask for the 301 or some Cerwin Vega bookshelf speakers. I ended up asking for the Bose 301 Series 5 because for $328.95 USD because they had excellent reviews on the internet. I am glad that I have... Read full review »

Pros BOOM BOOM BOOM.
Cons Mids and highs are lost in bass land.its a matter of taste.
Recommended it? No

I dont know what you will hear but I heard only boom boom boom :). The highs and mids were lost somewhere at the bose factory. Go for the 201, they are the true stars.
If you want smaller speakers go for the 161 which are amazing. Read full review »

This is a review of the 301 III. I recently heard the 301 V and my opinions have not changed.

Summary: A pleasant sounding speaker for back ground listening but over priced and out classed by the competition. Tonality is distorted to produce pleasant sound rather than accurate sound. Bass... Read full review »

Bose 301 Vs Very Good (not as good as the old 301s)

bysixtoes Aug 25, 2007

Pros Rich, full sound Amazing imaging Retail price is fair for quality of sound reproduction
Cons Mostly mid to high range sound, you'll want a sub
Recommended it? Yes

I am not an audiophile. I don't have the time or the money (so it seems). However, I have heard great sound systems before and I have heard crap (all too often). More importantly, I know what I like.

I have to Bose 301 Vs (2 of them) and 2 of the original 301s from the early 90s. I bought... Read full review »

I have read many reviews of various Bose 301 series speakers. One thing is evident; you either love them or hate them.
