Bose 901 Series VI Main / Stereo Speaker

Bought my last pair in 91 with EQ and stands and still like them to this day. Like other reviews they do not perform great with surround sound systems unless you want to hear the Bose speakers mainly. Yet, some speakers do sound good as rear and center speakers with the Bose 901's. My DCM Time Windows sound terrible as rear speakers when set up with the 901's and most folks know that DCM's were/are quality. What solved my problem for surround sound was a mid level center speaker and two Kenwood's for rear speakers that are about 100 watts each. There are some key points to remember when using Bose 901's. One is the EQ that you need from Bose, the placement of the speakers, and; I believe most important is the AMP/receiver's true output power. Using a $500 or less amp or receiver with 1k plus speakers does not make sense. My bass is awesome.
