Bose Acoustic Wave - Amazing Sound
Pros
great sound; no distortion even at 100% volume
Cons
a bit expensive, single-CD player
Recommended it?

I bought this product because I had heard it was a great sounding, compact unit. After I plugged it in and tried the demo CD, I was really amazed how much bass it had and how well it spread the sound. The demo CD contained nothing but real high-quality recordings that brought out the best in the unit. CDs with older recordings may not sound quite as great as new, high-tech stuff. But, garbage in, garbage out, is the rule for all audio equipment.
I'm a musician with fairly discriminating taste in sound quality. I've heard louder, but not cleaner, sound from huge mega-buck systems some of my audio-fanatic friends have. In other words, the bass won't rattle your bones, but it does carry nicely, even outdoors.
Being very portable, I've taken my unit to outdoor parties where it easily filled a large yard. Unfortunately, the CD player only holds one CD at a time. But there is an AUX input for those who want to plug in a CD stacker, tape deck, or even a turntable (for you pups out there, that plays those round black things you might mistake for a frisbee).
There is also a line out so you can supplement with an amp and more speakers for larger venues.
This is a great unit for anyone who can afford to spring a grand for great sound. If you live in tight quarters such as an apartment, this will fit in easily and still have the neighbors bangin on the walls. Of course, don't forget that burglars will also find it to be very portable.
