Not enough for $3500.00

Pros So called "All in one" system with great remote. Outstanding for music.
Cons If you are only playing CDs, great. But forget about movies.
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  Offers so much but not enough for $3500.00. For the "COMPLETE", muti romm, Home Entertainment System, go with something like Lexicon or Adcom.
At first I was pleased:
The Lifestyle? 50 Home Theater System looked like the best choice with a 6 disc changer and 4 source selection for multiple rooms. I like the remote and would think you would have a couple of those around the house wall (master bedroom, upstairs, outside). However, for 3,499.00 for the unit and 1 room, I think there are less expensive options but maybe not the ease of operation and size.

Once I dug into the manual:
My biggest gripe is the poor digital audio options with no DTS, no THX, 6.1 or 7.1 (most aren't). While this may be a great system for music, I do not see how without DTS or the future of 6.1 and 7.1, Bose could be a good choice for a "Home Theater" system. It does have Dolby Digital though.
The CD changer also has drawbacks in that it will not read CR-RW. Sure you can play them with a new DVD player but that will not be controllable from another room using the Bose remote.
Upon further review of the system, this is not a true receiver rather a audio switcher for Home Theater. Not only will you need to change the audio source on the Bose system when changing from VCR to DVD, but also change the source on the TV for the correct video. It makes more since to have the "receive" do all the work for both the audio and video. Makes for less remotes too.
The unit only offers 4 inputs. That would fill up with a DVD, VCR, Satellite, and Tape Deck. You would not be able to add anything more in the future. Not sure what's around the corner for technology.
