There is a quality issue with the QC3.

Great noise reduction capability<br>wonderful sound
Cons
poorly designed audio connection will not last beyond 2-3 years.

No
My headphones developed a short after about 2.5 years. I ordered a new cable to ensure it was not related to it and determined that the problem resides in the connection on the headphone. I called customer service and they said no repair is available but that they would send me a new pair for $100.00.
The problem that I have is that after reading online about the issue, it seems that it is very common. This leads me to believe it is a design or manufacturing problem and should be corrected for free (or minimal cost). The connection should be designed to withstand the consumer unplugging the cord with each use so the headphones can be stored in the provided case.
I spent nearly $400 on the headphones believing they were quality built and that Bose would stand behind their products. I was obviously wrong and would not recommend these to anyone shopping for noise reduction headphones. They will only last you 2 to 3 years. Too much money for them to only last that long.
