I have a scathing review of this radio already posted on Epinions at http://www.epinions.com/elec-review-7AC5-68EBCDC-38601316-prod2 where I talk about my personal disappointment with this radio.
But, I thought it only fair to Bose that I post some of my family and friend's opinion of this radio that resides in one of our spare bedrooms. Guests seem to universally love this thing. My sister lauded it's "quiet power" when she stayed with us recently. She'd take a CD into the bedroom and play it at very low levels and be amazed at the sound quality. She usually finds sound quality to diminish when the volume of other radios are very low.
A friend who often stays with us when he's down from Seattle (we live in Portland) comments on it every time he stays that "that Bose radio is awesome!"
And, just last weekend, my uncle commented how nice the radio was in his bedroom.
It's not only the sound my guests appreciate, but it's the unique alarm system too. It's easy to set and the alarm can be either CD, radio or beeping. You can set any of these to gradually reach a desired maximum volume.
So, although I'm not crazy about this radio/CD player personally (see above link to original review), I can confidently tell you this is a general crowd-pleaser. Maybe it has something to do with this well known & expensive piece of equipment residing in a mere guest bedroom, but, hey, whatever floats your guests' boat, right?
I'm a fan of Bose (see my Lifestyle 5 review), so felt they deserved this counter-epinion from the guy who degraded their reputation a bit previously.
