The Bottom Line:
Fresh hot coffee in a couple of minutes. Outstanding coffee maker. This is a buy it soon review.
Joe, Java,Mud, Cuppa, all these mean the same thing to most people, Coffee pure and simple. Black, sweet and light, sweet and black, add a little shot in mine. All these are the way people drink their coffee and possibly a lot more ways. But one thing about coffee that makes or breaks the good cup against the bad cup, is the way it is brewed.
Of course the kind of coffee you like makes a difference two. I have used numerous coffee makers in my lifetime. I have used the percolator on the stove type,{of course I was a child very young, grin}then all the other kinds that have evolved thru the years, some an improvement some not.
The Bunn is my favorite and I have bought three in the last 10 years. A lot of people have probably had theirs for 10 years, but we make about 7 pots of coffee a day when their is just my husband and myself, add about 5 more pots to that when their is company, you can see we get our moneys worth out of our coffee pot.
The Bunn tends to last us about three years which I think is a great record, for my family. Before I bought this Bunn my other had broke and I wanted coffee right now, so I went to Walmart and they did not have the Bunn I ended up with Black and Decker which lasted about a year. Then a couple of months ago we went looking for another Bunn. 79.00 on Sale and I grabbed it up.
This machine is sleek looking with a stainless steel tank, which is easy to keep clean. The rest is white(wish I had gotten black) and wipes off easily. The burner plate is black and has a on and off switch. The pull out filter is also white. The coffee decanter is glass and a very nice design, it holds about 8 cups. There is also a water pitcher that comes with it that holds the right amount of water.
This is the jet of coffee makers, I put it on in the morning and my coffee is ready before I can unfold the morning paper. The literature says it brews in three minutes, it usually brews in less time then that.
It also comes with a deliming tool to use. I very seldom use this what I do is about once a month I run a pitcher of vinegar thru it and then follow with three or four pots of clean water and this does the trick for me. I can tell when it needs to be cleaned because it takes longer for the coffee to make.
The water stays hot all the time because when you first use it you fill it two times and wait for this water to heat, then when you want to use it you pour a pitcher of water in and there is the aromatic aroma of fresh coffee. I love it.
Bunn has a web site where you can buy replacements if needed. I have never had anything mess up but a broken decanter and I found one that fit at Walmart. WWW.bunnomatic.com
So if you like your coffee fast and hot consider a Bunn the next time you buy you won't be disappointed.
The only drawback for me is the 8 cup decanter, I wish there was a larger one so I wouldn't have to make so many pots when I have company. We use large coffee mugs and the decanter only holds about 4 of these cups.
