The Bottom Line:
If this were a car: great engine and body, terrible trim.
I truly love these binoculars. The optics are in the amazing category. Two negative comments which are overshadowed by just how good these binoculars really are: 1) there is a *slight* grinding feel/noise when you turn the focus knob (this was true for 4 different binoculars at which I looked); 2) (and the much larger complaint) the eye-side lense caps are TERRIBLE!!! First, if you aren?t careful, you?ll damage the rubber on the eyepieces and second, even if you are careful, donning and removing the lense caps even carefully wears the eyepiece?s rubber guard. After all my research, these were at the bend in the quality/price curve. I'm not disappointed.
