Terrible picture quality
I bought this Coby DVD player a few years ago. Actually,it was my first DVD player. For the longest time, I couldn't understand why everyone loved DVD's so much. Coby 514M a piece of garbage-Beware of this machine
Bought it cause it was cheap, dumping it in the garbage because it is cheap and became possessed within months by a devil--that plays different tracks on DVDs with extra tracks. Worthless Machine
OK, so of course this thing is inexpensive, which I believe the technology of Digital Media Players should be by now, but the thing lasted exactly as long as it's 90 day warranty. Dead out of the box.
I bought this DVD player because it had good features and played DVD+/-R/RW discs. The price was also right ($39.99) and it looked nice and stylish on the picture. Coby 514 does the job...
I purchased the Coby 514 (TheNerds.net) and am satisfied with the performance. I plugged the provided audio/video cable into my Sharp 32" TV and installed the remote control batteries (provided)and was ready to go. The provided guide book goes over all of the DVD players functions.

To be expected from a brand name like Coby...
This DVD player is a piece of junk. The picture quality is subpar and it's begun to make a high pitched noise. This noise isn't from the unit, to comes out of the speakers during DVD playback. I wouldn't recommend. Read full review »
