Coby DVD-514 DVD Player

I bought this Coby DVD player a few years ago. Actually,it was my first DVD player. For the longest time, I couldn't understand why everyone loved DVD's so much. Their picture quality was horrible, the sound wasn't great, and even brand new DVD's would skip,freeze up,and just generally not play well. I was avoiding buying DVD's and instead sticking to VHS.
I didn't learn the truth until I purchased a new DVD player a few months ago. Wow,I understand the DVD appeal now. Because it wasn't the DVD's that were bad, it was this Coby DVD player!
Now that I've been able to compare another DVD player to this Coby DVD player, I can tell you all about it's faults.
The biggest complaint, it makes movies look so dark that you honestly can't see scenes that are shot inside homes, in the woods, or in any gloomy settings. You cannot see the details at all! It's horrible and it will drive you insane.
It skips, freezes,wobbles the picture,and even occasionally restarts a DVD when there is nothing wrong with the DVD. Remember,I tried out my DVD's on a new player and they play just fine.

So, before you're tempted by the low price, I would suggest saving your money and putting it towards a better DVD player. Hope this helps someone!
