Podcasts in your deck
Pros
easy folder navigation, remote control
Cons
No packet writing support, 8 character display, long initial load time.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Good buy, but expect to pay extra for the connector adapters, Car to generic and Generic to Deck.
Bought this deck with the sole intention of listening to MP3 podcasts on a CDRW during my commute to/from work, about 1.5 hrs each way.
Navigation is done via a directional pad, up/down to traverse folders, left/right to change tracks, right/left+hold to fast forward/reverse. Folders are numbered 00 for root, then sequentially 01, 02, ... So a track would be displayed as "00-01" root folder, first track or "01-01" first folder in Root, first track.
Comes with a remote that I've actually found useful. I find myself driving with it in my hand to adjust the volume as needed.
An 8 character display, scrolls the title once, which I found useless for track titles, so I just display the elapsed time or current track.
No packet writing support (couldn't find a deck in this range with) so I have to use CD burning software Nero at home/Easy CD Creator at work.
Initial CD insert takes a while to load, but once loaded/recognized quick to start.
4 EQ presets: Flat, Rock, Pop, Vocal.
Thanks they sales guy at Circuit City and the connector adapters I was able to install it myself without having to cut any wires, but remember to eject the CD from your old deck before taking it out.
Overall happy with the deck and not having to mess with wires or batteries. Pop in the CD and enjoy the commute.
