The Bottom Line:
Excellent radio, best on the market.
I purchased a refurbished unit directly from Cambridge Soundworks via their store on eBay. Total cost with shipping and tax, approximately $150.00. From the time I plugged it in, I knew I had made a great purchase. For the money, this is definately the best radio on the market. I wouldn't use it as my primary stereo but for small rooms like kitchens, bedrooms, etc. it is perfect. The sound is excellent, the controls are very easy to understand and the AUX jack in the front of the radio is quite useful. For those of you considering purchasing a unit with the C.D. player, I have a suggestion. Consider buying just the radio, then purchase a iPod Shuffle or Nano, load all your C.D.'s onto the MP 3 player. You can plug your MP3 player directly into the radio either through the front AUX jack or the rear AUX jack. It is so simple and really circumvents the problem of having the C.D. player malfunction or break in the future. In closing, great radio, best on the market. Total Cost for the set-up I described above:
Re-Furbished Unit: $150.00
iPod Nano (1GB 250 Songs) 150.00
Cord for iPod to Radio 7.00 (Radio Shack)
Total for entire set-up $307.00
This radio with the C.D. player sells for $329.99 refurbished on Cambridge's website. The set-up above accomplishes the same thing, is cheaper and with less potential hassles in the future should the C.D. player malfunction.
