These binoculars are so powerful that they could even be use as a telescope to look at the stars or the moon and being waterproof also helps out on camping trips and school trips. These are the very best and don't think they are not protected. They are very durable even in the harshest conditions and you don't have to worry about salt getting in by air. They are the tightest enclosed binoculars I have every found. They are a true winner in my eye. They don't need cleaning that much, not as much as you would think. With the power you could see if you dropped changed on the football field while in the stands. To say the least they are the very best.
