The Bottom Line:
The best single-use flat-bed scanner you can buy for under one hundred dollars, when I bought it.
This scanner replaced an old HP scanner that I used for years. I've always liked using single-use flat-beds versus all-in-ones due to the flexibility of features provided on scanners. The scanner takes a little bit to initialize, but once done, it is very fast. I think the light inside is LED vs. regular fluorescent. It's very quiet, and I like the software, especially the ability to "open the scanner driver" so the user can adjust ALL the settings they want. For the price, you can't beat this unit. I did a lot of research on scanners before purchasing this scanner. So, don't waste your time. If all you need is a simple high-quality USB flat-bed scanner, buy this one. I found many scanners that did not perform as well, for even more cost. I found scanners that do a LOT more that cost more. I'm not saying this is either the cheapest or the best scanner. What I am saying is this scanner, for the money, blows the doors off any product that is even closely the same price. The choices in the software included screening, masking, auto-toning, greyscale, you name it. I'm a graphic editor, so I am very picky about the output I need.
